9. Make notes during a presentation       
You may need to add feedback or other comments from the audience while your presentation is on. To do this, right-click the slide for which you want to add notes, point to Screen and then click Speaker Notes. You can type in the box that opens and click Close. The notes will get saved along with the presentation.

10. Save a presentation as a PDF
In PowerPoint 2007, you can download a plug-in that automatically lets you save a PowerPoint presentation as PDF or XPS. Once you’ve downloaded it, you can also use the plug-in to mail the presentation as a PDF email attachment.

1.To Open your presentations as slide show automatically open your PPT file;save as and save the presentation as PPS file.Use this file as your presentation-you need to double click the file to open as slide show.

2. Enter text quickly in PowerPoint slides
To open the presentation or slide,press CTRL+ENTER to enter text in the title place holder.Press the same keys again and again to enter the Body text place holder and type your text here.

3. Jump to a slide during a presentation
When in the presentation slide show mode and you want to see some particular slide then press GO TO SLIDE and then press the slide you need to jump to.

4. Get a different cursor during a presentation
You can use your cursor to highlight or underline important points on the slide during a presentation. In slide show mode, right-click anywhere on the screen, go to Pointer Options, and click Ballpoint, Felt Tip Pen, or Highlighter. You can even choose the Ink Color for any of these.

5. Blank out the screen during a presentation
If you want to remove the focus from your presentation for a while to focus on some other input, press B on the keyboard to make the screen blank. Press B again to begin the presentation from where you left off.

6. Create duplicates of objects
If you want to use an object (shape plus text, for instance) more than once on a slide, create the first object. Then, press CTRL and drag the object to the next position on which you want to place it. A duplicate of the object will be placed in the new position, while the first object remains in the original position.

1. Resize your image 

Click on the Image function on the menu bar. Select ‘resize’. You will see a menu box pop up with width, height, and a percentage for both, units, and two click boxes - distortion and smooth.

Change the percentage according to your need. Photo Editor automatically changes the image size corresponding to the percentage. Click OK to apply the setting.
 
2. Crop your image
If you wish to remove some portions of the image you are working on, pick up the Select tool from the toolbar. Select the area you want to retain. Then go to the Image menu and click on Crop. Once you click OK, your image gets cropped.

3. Convert to grayscale
You can convert your colour images to black and white (grayscale) by right clicking on the image and selecting Properties. In the Properties dialog box go to the Type scroll menu. Select Gray Scale and click OK.
 
4. Set the resolution right
To change the resolution of your image, right click on the image and  select Properties. In the Properties dialog box, set the resolution of your choice. If you want to use your pic for the Web, select 72 dpi (dots per inch). For printing in high quality, an image of 300 dpi is required. Click OK.
 
5. Apply artistic effects
In the menu bar, go to the Effects option. You can pick from a number of effects and apply to your image. In case you want to apply the effect on a part of the image, you can select that particular part by using the Select tool from the toolbar and then apply the effect.

Unless you know what you're doing and have taken steps specifically to provide extra cooling to your computer, avoid the temptation to overclock. If your cooling fails, your components will overheat much faster than otherwise - and may even be damaged permanently.
 
Where you situate your computer is important when it comes to keeping your computer cool. Place desktop computers on the floor, if possible, since it's cooler down there - and move them close to an air conditioning vent, too, if one is available. Do not place them close to other heat-generating devices.
 
With notebook computers, there's often less choice about where to sit them, but try to keep them off your lap, which will make both you and your computer less comfortable.
 
"Always on" computing is great in principle, but computers that stay on constantly in the summer are more susceptible to failure, if the heat rises or cooling fails. So turning your computer off when you're not using it will save not only electricity but potentially your PC as well.

Monitors, too, generate a lot of heat when turned on - even when they're not displaying an image. Just put your hand near the back of your monitor - CRT or LCD - to find out. Get into the habit of turning off your monitor when you step away from the computer for extended periods of time.
 
These days, some computers come with software programs that allow you to monitor the temperature of your computer. These can be handy, for even if you don't know what temperature is considered acceptable, the utilities will display warning signs when components get too hot.

Washington: Computers hate heat. So this summer, be sure to think about keeping your computer cool. Computer components themselves run hot, and yet they're not designed to operate above a certain temperature.
 
In a sense, fans are a computer's most important component. Without them, your computer's processor, memory, and other vital parts would overheat and eventually fail or cause your computer to slow down or to start behaving erratically.
 
So at least once a year - and the beginning of summer is a good time - you should inspect the fans in your computer to ensure that they're operating, and you should also clean them, for all fans collect dust and function less efficiently as a result.

in the country in which your computer is located.

transmitted through the computer network to a distant computer in

a far away country,is converted to about 20000 zeroes and ones i.e..

into the computer's own language.(Each line of typed matter contains about

50 letters of alphabet and there will be roughly 50 lines in a

page.each letter of alphabet is represented by a group of eight 0's or 1's.therefore total of o's and i's for a page of text will be 

50x50x8=20000). So about 50 lines of typed matter will be treated as

a unit for tranmission.It is treated by computer as a" packet" of data

i.e.technically a message of unit length. Immediately the destination

address and sender's address are attached at the begining and "an error

detection code" is attached at the end.Now it is just like the paper

letter enclosed in a paper envelope ready for posting into the letter

box.But the" packet" is an invisible letter in an invisible envelope .

The thousands of "router computers" through which the packet has to pass

sort the packets to the destination addresses attached at the begining of the packets. The sorting is done as computer directory(just like telephone directory) 

loaded into each computer particularly into all the "router computers".

The packets travell at a terrific speed of three lakh kilometers per

second and reach the destination computer anywhere in the

world in fraction of a second in a most perfect serial order.Otherwise

words and sentences will be recieved in ahaphazard useless way.speech,songs and pictures could not at all have been transmitted.



Suppose there is a very large file of 10000 pages of English printed

text to be sent from a specified computer in India to a specified

computer in U.S. There will be several thousand packets of 20000

zeroes and ones after conversion of the English text to computer language.The sending computer serially numbers the packets.The recieving

computer should recieve the packets in strict serial order and with out

any damage .The sending computer sends duplicate packets if any packets

are not acknowledged.The recieving computer constructs the entire file in

perfect order after serially arranging the pacckets and removing the to/from address codes from all the packets.The receiving computer should also

acknowledge reciept of each packet.One wonders at the tremendous

analysing and scrutinising power of the TCP/IP software.

And all this without any human intervention!

TheTCP/IP has other big capacities. If there is a breakdown

in connection,an alternarte route is arranged within fraction of a

second checking all the possible alternate network routes in the

neighbourhood (and if necessory in neighbouring countries or the

trunk routes in whole world by referring to the computer directories contained in the router computers (just in the way we refer to telephone directories). So it is just possible that sometimes your computer

may get connected to your friend's computer in the neighbouring house

via a very round about route thrugh" routers computers" in France,

China or Bangladesh!Remember that TCP/IP should be contained in every

computer purchsed any where in the world.

The TCP/IP software is so powerful that you are always provided with an

unbreakable connection with any computer in a distant country for as long as

you want.It is really a wonderful technology assisted by intelligence of

computer softwares. The World Standards Organisation for computer matters IEEE

has ordered that all computers at time of manufacture itself should

have the TCP/IP chip fixed inside.
